New Internet TV Channel launches dedicated to Irish Music
Dublin, 25 Jan 2008 - Irish Music Television (IMTV) will officially launch on Jan 31st in the 4 Dame Lane, Dublin.
Irish Music TV Channel (IMTV) is a new TV channel that will be available across a range of digital platforms.
The Channel has been in beta for the last few months on the ground-breaking IPTV service Joost, which was created by the founders of Skype and has so far taken Irish Music to an audience in over 40 countries. The channel is an Initiative of Wildwave Media, a top digital media company and Grasp, one of Ireland's leading Music consultancies.
IMTV will focus on bringing the best Independent and alternative Irish Music Videos to an audience both at home and abroad, via broadband, IPTV, Mobile phones, Gaming consoles, Joost and other Internet TV platforms.
IMTV will showcase great videos from both established and up and coming Irish artists that may not be otherwise accessible or available to a global audience.
IMTV will also cover Live events, festivals and concerts that take place in Ireland as well as artist interviews, live sessions, music documentaries and tour footage. IMTV will also develop a rich slate of original programming.

IMTV is currently available as a continuous channel on Joost.com and will launch on broadband and other IPTV platforms in the coming months. 'We expect to announce further distribution for the channel on IPTV, Mobile and Internet TV platforms in Quarter 2 this year`' adds Stephen McCormack.

Some of the programs in development at IMTV include the IRISH VIDEO MUSIC AWARDS, VideoDROME - a show in which bands compete to have their music video produced, a bi-weekly music magazine show and many more. The launch party will be held on January 31st in 4 Dame Lane, Dublin. On the night we will reveal the 5 finalists in the Eircom Unsigned bands competition. They'll treat us to an eclectic mix of music in order to win recording time in Windmill lane.
