PRESS RELEASE / NEWS
Wildwave and Vodafone mobilise The Frames.

Dublin, Ireland, 16 August 2004- Wildwave and Vodafone today launched a series of exclusive mobile offerings for one of Ireland's most popular bands, The Frames.

The Frames' content appears on Vodafone Live! and includes RealTones, Wallpapers, Artist profile, Discography and a Competition.

The Frames are one of Ireland's most popular and acclaimed bands, the Frames really hit the big time in 2003, when they played the Lisdoonvarna festival in front of 30,000 people at the RDS in Dublin. A few months earlier, they topped the Irish charts with the live album Set List (their third platinum record on home turf).

Up until this point, the quartet was known as the biggest cult act in Ireland, and arguably the most inspiring live band to come out of the country in the last ten years. But after that triumphant homecoming show, they could no longer play the usurper card. The Frames were Ireland's state secret, but it was time to go public.

Since then, they have won Best Band at the Irish Music Awards, (beating off U2) and scored a massive hit with their single Fake.
With the release of their new album "Burn the Maps" and single "Finally", The Frames look set to stay in the frame for a long time to come.

"We are delighted to launch this content with Vodafone and The Frames," says Stephen McCormack, CEO of Wildwave. "we are totally committed to making sure that the fans of great Irish Acts like The Frames has access to all latest mobile content. We believe that up to now, it has been the major international acts you have had the lion's share of the mobile market. With The Frames, and other Irish Acts in the pipeline, Wildwave are going to rectify this situation."

"Vodafone Ireland are commited to the providing the best content for their Vodafone Live customers. The addition of the Frames content demonstrates our commitment to Irish content and to music content in general" says Michael Buisman, Content Manager, Vodafone Ireland.

"We are always trying to find new ways to reach our fanbase, and the Frames accept that mobile music and ringtones is a growing way in which people interact with music these days. We are delighted to be working with wildwave on this project and believe in anthing that levels the playing pitch in the Music world" says Claire Leadbitter, Manager of The Frames.
